Some begin with a ritual practice or tradition we want to explore. Others begin with a botanical, fragrance, crystal, material, or idea. We research the elements involved, consider how they relate to the purpose of the creation, select the appropriate materials, and develop the final form through formulation, craftsmanship, curation, and refinement.

Some creations are handcrafted by us. Others are curated from materials or products selected specifically for the Haus.

Our process changes according to what we are creating, but research, purpose, craftsmanship, and refinement remain central to the work.

We select materials according to their role within each creation.

Depending on the product, we may consider botanical characteristics, traditional uses, aromatic qualities, sensory experience, formulation requirements, performance, sourcing, and the relationship between the material and the larger purpose of the creation.
