HOW TO PERFORM YOUR HAUS OF ALCHEMY SPIRITUAL BATH RITUAL
Your Haus Of Alchemy Spiritual Bath is prepared around a specific intention, bringing together botanicals and other ritual ingredients selected to support the purpose of the bath.
A spiritual bath is a traditional ritual practice that uses water, botanicals, and intentional ingredients in practices associated with cleansing, renewal, protection, attraction, release, and other spiritual purposes. Unlike an ordinary bath, its primary purpose is not cleansing the physical body. The bath creates the conditions for ritual; your preparation, intention, and participation are what make the practice your own.
STEP ONE: PREPARE YOUR SPACE & YOURSELF
Before beginning your spiritual bath, prepare both yourself and the space in which the ritual will take place.
-
Clean your bathroom and prepare the space for your practice. If it is part of your tradition or personal practice, you may also cleanse the space with salt water or another preferred cleansing method.
-
Shower and cleanse your physical body before entering the bath.
The spiritual bath can then remain focused on the intention and ritual purpose for which it was prepared.
STEP TWO: CHOOSE YOUR RITUAL TIMING
Timing can become part of the symbolism of a spiritual practice. Depending on your tradition or personal practice, you may consider the intention of your ritual, the moon cycle, the day of the week, or the time of day when deciding when to perform your bath.
For example, love, attraction, and abundance work is traditionally associated in some practices with the waxing moon and Friday, while release, banishing, and cleansing work may be associated with the waning moon and Saturday.
These correspondences are not requirements. Use them when they are meaningful to your practice and appropriate to the intention of your Spiritual Bath.
STEP THREE: PREPARE YOUR RITUAL ELEMENTS
Your spiritual bath may be performed on its own or accompanied by other ritual elements that support your intention.
You may choose to include:
• Florida Water
• Sage sticks
• Incense
• Intention candles
• Music or meditation
• Complementary crystals
If crystals are part of your practice, they may be arranged safely around the bath or elsewhere in the ritual space. Do not place crystals directly into bath water unless you have confirmed that the specific stone is appropriate for water exposure.
Choose only the elements that have meaning for the ritual you are creating. More does not necessarily make the practice more powerful.
STEP FOUR: PREPARE YOUR SPIRITUAL BATH
Fill your bathtub with comfortably warm water and add your Haus Of Alchemy Spiritual Bath according to the instructions provided with your specific creation.
If you choose to incorporate directional symbolism into the ritual, clockwise movement is traditionally used in some practices for attraction, drawing, and welcoming, while counterclockwise movement may be used for release, banishing, and removal.
You may also work in repetitions of three if that symbolism is meaningful within your practice.
As you prepare the bath, speak, write, or silently hold the intention you have chosen for the ritual.
STEP FIVE: ENTER THE RITUAL
Once your bath has been prepared, enter carefully and allow yourself time to become present within the practice.
For attraction, abundance, or drawing work, focus your attention on what you are choosing to welcome, cultivate, or create.
For cleansing, release, or banishing work, focus on what you are choosing to clear, relinquish, or leave behind.
If pouring the bath water over your body is part of your practice, follow the directions provided with your specific Spiritual Bath and take care to avoid the eyes, mouth, and other sensitive areas.
Speak your intention aloud or hold it quietly. Repeat your chosen action or affirmation if repetition is part of your practice.
The Spiritual Bath has been prepared around an intention. What you bring to the ritual is your decision to participate in it.
Manifest Your Vision.
